Golf Ball Drop
Buy one of the Lions club's charity golf balls for $25. In November, the golf ball will be dropped from a helicopter and if your ball drops into the cup or is closet to the hole you will win. Only 2,500 golf balls will be sold.

Betty Phillips of South Carolina (far right) took honors at the 2009 Lions National VIP Fishing Tournament on the Outer Banks of North Carolina Oct. 14. Phillips was presented with her first place award by John Miller, president of the North Carolina Lions Foundation; David Grana, tournament chairperson emeritus; and Sid L. Scruggs III, 1st vice president of the International Association of Lions Clubs.

Sponsored by the First Flight, Nags Head, Manteo, Wanchese, Columbia, Currituck, Lower Currituck and Plymouth Lions clubs, the North Carolina Lions VIP Fishing Tournament attracts over 500 blind and visually impaired people, along with their guests, ages 12 to 91 to the Outer Banks. The tournament which draws people from 77 counties, is the largest gathering of blind and visually impaired people in North Carolina.
