Tournament organizers will make hotel accommodations for participants, guests and volunteers. Group leaders are reminded if they arrive a day early they are responsible for paying all associated costs for accommodations for the extra days.

There is a mandatory meeting of Group Leaders on Monday night after dinner at the Lions gymnasium at Westcott Park. The meeting will be held in the tent.

The N.C. Lions VIP Fishing Tournament

The number of applicants will be limited to 525 and will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each person attending must fill out a separate application. This includes all drivers, workers, spouses, volunteers and guides requiring accommodations. Applications must be filled out completely and signed. VIP participants arrive on the Outer Banks on a Monday, are housed in local motels, have six meals, go fishing on two head boats and four ocean fishing piers for a day of recreation; they participate in seminars and independent living training, and visit with vendors. The closing awards banquet on Wednesday night offers motivation and awards.

Group leaders are reminded that they need to arrange all medical treatments for parti-cipant requiring treatments during the tournament. 

Only fish caught on the participant's line and hauled in by the participant during the established time limit can be counted toward participant's total weight in the fishing contest. Volunteers are only permitted to bait hooks and cast the line into the ocean.
